Healthy alternatives to every food and drink



This topic is about healthy alternatives to some foods and drinks that are harmful and lead to some diseases.


Here is a list of some harmful types of foods and drinks and their best alternatives:


Soft drinks:


Soft drinks are usually carbonated drinks that contain soda and lots of sugar or artificial sweeteners and artificial flavors and high in calories.

The best healthy alternative to soft drinks is that you can drink once or twice per week an unsweetened and unflavored sparkling water and the best way to drink it is to open the bottle and keep it for 15 minutes to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide.

You can put inside the water some cucumber slices, lemon slices, or mint leaves.


Fruit juices:


You shouldn't be surprised that fruit juices, is not a healthy choice when you want to have a drink because fruit juices are high in calories and contain a lot of fructose, which increases your insulin and triglycerides levels in the blood and this will be harmful to your blood vessels.

The best alternative is to drink vegetable juices instead of fruit juices, first, they are low in calories comparing to fruit juices and full of essential vitamins and minerals.

Instead of drinking fruit juices, it is recommended to eat fruits in moderation and preferably on an empty stomach and not just before or after your meal to prevent fermentation of fruits inside your gut and causing problems in your digestive problems.  


Cow's milk:


Cow's milk is toxic because of casein protein found in cow's milk that becomes modified due to a genetic mutation in most of cows species that changed casein from A2 casein to A1 casein, which causes allergies, addiction, leaky gut, and autoimmune diseases, and increase the mucus production in the body and affects the skin.

But you must know that some subspecies of cows still produce A2 casein milk like the subspecies with the scientific Latin name Bos Taurus Indicus unlike Bos Taurus Taurus

The best alternatives for cow's milk are A2 cow's milkgoat's milk, sheep milk, unsweetened coconut milk, and almond milk.

Gluten (wheat, barley, corn):


Gluten comes from wheat, barley, and corn which is a protein that gives the stickiness to the dough and ruins your digestive system.

The best alternatives for gluten foods are buckle wheat, coconut flour, almond flour, millet cereals, and oats but you must know that oats can also harm you if you have celiac disease or you have an allergy to gluten.


Lectins:


Lectins are a type of plant proteins found in whole grains like beans, and unfortunately, there are no alternatives for lectins, but in case you want to eat grains, you must soak the grains for 24 hours in water and repeat washing every few hours and cook well in a pressure cooker to break down the lectins in the grains.


White rice:


Unfortunately, brown rice is not a healthy alternative to white rice because it contains a lot of phytic acids that prevent the absorption of minerals.

The alternative that has become used and known to some people, is cauliflower rice, which is a finely chopped cauliflower and used in cooking dishes.


Vegetable oils:


Vegetable oils such as canola, sunflower, corn, and soy, and margarine butter are refined, synthetic and GMOs and lead to some serious health issues and diseases.

It is better to use unsalted milk butter, or ghee, or coconut butter, for cooking.


White sugar:


White sugar is toxic and harmful to your health.

The artificial sweeteners are not considered a healthy alternative to white sugar, but the healthiest alternative is to use stevia but in small quantities because even stevia can increase your insulin level.


Starches:


Starches like pasta, breadrice, and potatoes have a high glycemic index and not considered as the healthier choice of carbohydrates.

The healthier alternatives for starches are sweet potatoes, quinoa, oats, and chia seeds.
